14-Day Private Pilot Training Course

I recently earned my FAA Private Pilot License after completing an intensive training program with AFIT (Accelerated Flight and Instrument Training) in California. From day one, the professionalism, structure, and dedication I experienced through AFIT stood out.

My instructor, Arthur worked with me right through to the successful completion of my check ride. We trained daily out of Van Nuys Airport (KVNY), flying extensively across Southern California. Despite the challenges of unpredictable coastal weather — including frequent morning fog — Art remained flexible and focused, adjusting our schedule to ensure we maximized every opportunity to fly.

What set Arthur apart was his systematic, professor-like approach to ground instruction. Each afternoon, we returned to his office where he patiently and thoroughly reviewed all key areas of FAA-required training. His teaching style was structured and rigorous, yet always supportive. Art went far beyond the basics — tailoring the training to my needs, drilling in the fundamentals, and ensuring I had a strong conceptual grasp as well as practical skill.

I truly felt that Arthur was personally invested in my success. His encouragement, attention to detail, and deep knowledge made a significant difference in my confidence and ability to perform on the check ride. Tony the owner of AFIT, was also a consistent presence and support throughout the program, checking in regularly and making sure everything stayed on track.
