I had a great experience with Bill and it went vey well. I feel he is a excellent instructor and he really cares about his students understanding of the material. It was a very good experience and I would definitely do it again. “I PASSED THE CHECKRIDE WITH FLYING COLORS”. Bill incorporates good stories into his teaching to keep it from being dull and mundane.

I would definitely recommend you services. Thanks again

John was very thorough and knowledgeable. He is a very nice gentleman to work with. I passed my check ride which I was very happy about.

I enjoyed working with John and I feel like I learned a lot.

I cannot say enough about this course! Entering the program I had a lot of background but could not seem to tie it all together. In addition, I had not done any instrument work in almost 6 months. Too many interruptions, not enough instructors and a job which kept me on the road conspired against me.

After struggling for over a year to complete my IFR rating, Bill helped me gain the knowledge and skills required to pass my checkride in only 10 days. More importantly, he allowed me to build the confidence and proficiency necessary to know I am a competent pilot in instrument conditions. Bill is a great instructor and I thoroughly enjoyed working with him.

See you when I get started on my Commercial ticket!

Thanks so much for your support in the pursuit of my instrument rating. Like most of the students you talk with, I had earned my private pilot license through a very frustrating one step forward two steps back approach with four different instructors that I didn’t wish to repeat as I embarked on the journey to attain instrument proficiency. From the first time we spoke six months ago, I was convinced that once I had my instrument written under my belt AFIT had the instructors to mold me into a safe and proficient instrument pilot.

Ed was a terrific instructor. Ed was very patient while I learned from his nearly 10,000 hours of experience. Ed’s teaching background enabled him to productively convey the complex concepts associated with the rating. He’s a real asset to your organization. Also, the ten day instrument program is perfectly aligned with the instrument subject matter and the consistency of flying every day allowed me to master skills that I will use each time I fly IFR or VFR. I will recommend AFIT to anyone that is serious about attaining their instrument rating.

Thanks again!

I thoroughly enjoyed my training. Hal’s patience and knowledge still astound me. I came to AFIT to get good instruction and it exceeded my expectations 10 fold! Hal’s attention to detail and calmness really makes the learning experience a delight.

p.s. if you want to use me as a reference you can bet both You and Hal will get a glowing reference should you need it.. Thanks.

Once again, I would like to thank you for your expert instructions laden with years of knowledge, of many aspects of the flying business.

Your course is as advertised and better, an experience shared by one of AFIT students in the recent article in the AOPA magazine. It requires a total immersion with no distractions, one reason why I chose to come to you rather than have you come to my home town, a place where most of my distractions reside as well. With much of my initial self-doubt it was your encouragement throughout the course combined with prioritizing my weak points which ultimately lead to the successful passing of the check ride on a first attempt. Your dedication to the common cause of having me to pass no matter what it took was too, just another testimonial to your integrity and commitment to my success. I for one take great pride and satisfaction of not becoming the cause of lowering your success rate of having your students pass on a first attempt. You deserved no less. In the end my rewards were my new instrument rating, new friendship and the prospect and desire to pursue commercial and multi-engine ratings. All thanks to you.

It was a true pleasure working with AFIT as I worked through my goal of Instrument Certification. The Instrument ticket was something that I had been aspiring to accomplish since I first completed my Private Pilot training back in 1996. With the demands of running a small business and traveling a great deal, it became clear that the traditional extended training approach with a local instructor wasn’t going to get me the results I wanted anytime soon. I had read a couple articles about the Advanced Flight Training options and was very impressed with the successful history AFIT had with turning VFR pilots into highly capable instrument pilots.

After talking with you and reading the glowing recommendations from former students it was clear that AFIT had the capabilities and proven success to make what I thought was impossible into a reality in just 10 days.

As the days grew closer to start my training, the anxiety increased and concerns about being able to make it all work became a bit overwhelming. These concerns rapidly faded after the first couple hours in the air. My instructor instilled great confidence in me and made the flying experience as comfortable as possible. The first day was straight into IMC conditions and was certainly an eye opener to say the least. This wasn’t a negative experience but actually showed me early on in the training what was to be expected and what the possibilities of skilled IFR training can do for a former VFR pilot.

We spent the next couple days flying a variety of different routes and approaches throughout the mid-Atlantic in all sorts of conditions, including rain, sleet and snow. I was taught how to fly safely and identify these negative weather conditions before they adversely affected the flight and how to take corrective actions if something did go wrong.

My instructor is an amazing pilot and gracious instructor who has taught me the necessary skills to fly safely in IMC conditions with a much stronger level of confidence then I would have likely developed flying a mix of simulated approaches and completed training without the benefits of actual IFR conditions.

One lasting statement from my instructor which made a real impression on me was that with the IFR Certification comes great responsibility to maintain my skills and should be considered a “license to learn”. I think that is an important statement for all freshly minted IFR pilots to continue to develop and expand upon the training that was received.

I just wanted to pass on that I really enjoyed learning under Ed. If I had it to do over, I would have scheduled the entire training with AFIT and never have wasted my time with the other company. Doing so would have been much more efficient and I am sure would have made me a better pilot. As it was, Ed did in four days what I have been trying to accomplish in 3 months – and the examiner was effusive with his compliments on this second check ride after failing me 10 days ago. I have learned my lesson – my next rating will be through AFIT. Thanks for your help, your quick and courteous response time, and meeting my exact needs. And thanks to Ed for his consummate patience.

I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate all that Bill did to get me ready for the instrument check ride. Bill is a very knowledgeable instructor and an excellent teacher. I had a very tight time window to complete the training, and the weather made it quite a challenge. Bill’s quiet confidence throughout was a big help in getting it done.

Thanks again.

I wanted to take a moment to express my thanks to A.F.I.T. and my instructor John. I successfully passed my instrument rating without a single problem. My entire experience was fantastic. If there is anything that could have been done better I do not know what it would be. John was extremely knowledgeable in every aspect of aviation, including weather, maintenance, regulations, systems, etc… John was extremely easy to work with and as I move forward with training he (AFIT) will be the first person I call.

The course was very intensive and after I received my rating all I wanted to do was take a nap. However, I would not do the training in any other way. By the end I was extremely comfortable with all aspects of the rating as well as all aspects of my airplane. In fact, after my check-ride my examiner commented on how comfortable I was throughout the flight. This can only be attributed to the course design and the incredible quality of instruction I received from John. I will not hesitate to recommend A.F.I.T. and John in the future.

Just want to touch base with you again and thank you and Bill for helping me attain the IFR & CPL tickets. Bill was really the best instructor I’ve had in my flying career, and he professionally set everything up for me, so all I had to care about was fly, fly, fly…His famous pink cards also came in handy as there wasn’t a single question the examiner asked me that I hadn’t discussed with Bill before. As for AFIT and your support, that too was professionalism from start to finish. I will certainly spread the word across the pond in Europe with everybody who’s working up to his instrument rating and wants to get it in the US.

Flying with John was great fun, and I really’ enjoyed his company. The aircraft was fantastic, and the weather held-out perfectly as well. Thanks for everything.

Take care and all the best.

I’m very satisfied with the training particularly in regards to being able to tailor it to my specific needs and schedule. In the big scheme of things I view all training as an attempt to never risk safety for passengers or myself. In the back of my mind I know I will always be a “weekend pilot” and I can’t let my guard down as when it comes to ongoing currency and training. I think we scored an A+ in these areas.

Cholena was great. I really appreciated her patience and knowledge. She was quite a refreshing take on flight instructors because I have had a few rather rude ones. I had to get my pilots license this month for my Air Force Pilot’s application.

I can’t thank Cholena and AFIT enough for helping me complete my process. Great Job….

Thank you for helping me complete my Private Pilot License. As you know I had been working on this for years and my previous instructors just kept telling me how hard the practical was going to be and for the oral I had to know “everything”. So, thanks for helping me focus on the key important items and getting me through my oral & practical in such short time. You made it happen despite two scheduling changes and Northern California midwinter weather.

I appreciate your teaching skills, enthusiasm and sense of humor. Thank you for all your hard work!

14 Day Private Pilot Training In My Cirrus SR-22

Imagine wanting to obtain your private license in a high performance plane, like a Cirrus SR22. Imagine everyone telling you that you are crazy to do it in such a plane in such a short period of time. Well, I can tell you that it can be done, because I did it. And but for AFIT my desire to quickly obtain my private pilot license in an SR22 would not have become a reality. John was beyond an exceptional instructor. He was both tough on me, but also extremely understanding and patient during my training process. While many people may have doubts about accelerated training, I cannot see another way to do learn how to fly. It was so important for me to go through the daily repetition of flying, that after the first 4 days it was as easy as just getting into my car.  Tony was extremely helpful as well in accommodating my busy schedule as a trial attorney that often sees many unexpected changes because of trials and deadlines. In addition, Tony was honest in sharing with me some of the challenges I would face in training in such a high performance plane. My experience with AFIT was a 10/10 and I highly recommend this to everyone who desires to learn how to fly.

Sincerely,

Tony,

I enjoyed training with Bill E.  The training was intense, but it is just what I needed due to my schedule, and I got through the check ride making me a safer and more knowledgeable instrument rated pilot.

I would recommend Bill and AFIT to anyone wanting an instrument license. Bill was enjoyable to be around with his positive attitude about everything.

I wish you continued success with your company and your training program.

IFR Finish-Up Training / Cessna T206H Turbo Stationair with G1000

I recently chose AFIT for finish-up IFR training for my 20 year old son with about 200 total flying hours in our Cessna T206H Turbo Stationair with G1000.

The training was very intense from 9 to 5 mixing flying and ground school.   I think this is the best way to get the IFR rating.   Traditional programs drag the process and in my opinion it is not the best way to go.

Bill  the instructor is a great guy and is very patient.  He has tons of experience in all kinds of aircraft. The night before the check ride he invited us for dinner at his home.   He shared lots of stories which made the intense training very enjoyable.  I wish to thank Bill for his dedication and hospitality.  We couldn’t have done it without him.  Art Jr. passed his check ride with ease and the examiner said he did “exceptionally well”.   I will always remember the 5 P’s.   Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance.

14 Day Private Pilot Course  / C172 with G1000

Hi Tony, John,

I just wanted to say thank you for the professional and educational experience that you provided through AFIT’s Private Pilot program!  I am still shocked that I was able to accomplish my PPL in 14 days!!!  I could not have done it without Tony’s expert coordination and John’s incredible instruction.  I really appreciated John’s teaching style and am grateful for how patient and insightful he is.  He was always able to communicate things to me in a way that I understood, and gave me helpful tips for how to apply what I was learning in a practical way.  While there was a lot to learn, I never felt behind and I always felt like I was getting the best instruction.  I had started trying to get my PPL a year ago with another flight school, but scheduling a plane and instructor after work was challenging, and the training felt so slow.  I only accomplished four hours of flying before I had to quit due to a hectic work schedule.  When I heard about AFIT, I knew this was the program for me.  It was definitely worth it to take two weeks off work and knock all of the training out in an accelerated manner.

This was the perfect solution for me, and I am excited to come back and get my instrument rating!  I would highly recommend this program to anyone who is serious about becoming a pilot and wants to do so in a timely manner.

Thanks again, and Blue Skies!

10 Day IFR Training In My C182Q with G1000

Tony,

My flight training with John was a great challenge and very enjoyable.  John is incredibly knowledgeable about instrument flying and avionics, but also has a very relaxed approach to teaching.  He was flexible in scheduling the training to start at my home airport, and after a couple of days relocate to beautiful Boulder to finish up.  John doesn’t just “teach to the test,” instead making sure I understood the reasons for doing things a certain way and holding me to a high standard.  Our time together was a lot of work, but I never felt like I was overwhelmed.  Best of all, I’m now an instrument-rated pilot and I feel my skills are better than ever, in or out of the clouds.

Thanks to AFIT and John for helping me reach my goal!

My 10 Day Instrument Training

I always thought that getting an instrument rating was very hard work and it requires a lot of knowledge, practice and patience. It does, but it all depends on the school and your instructor. John M. was my instructor and I cannot imagine how good you should be to teach better then him! I came to AFIT with only 3 hours of instrument flight time, and in 10 days I got another 50. Right now I can be certain that if I would get into the clouds, I will be able to find my way out safely and with confidence.

I am really happy Marc Lee at Plane & Pilot Magazine told me about AFIT, and I really appreciate Tony, the owner, for such a great school and John for such incredible training!

Looking forward to fly with AFIT again!

8 Day IFR Finish-Up Training / Cessna TR182 with Garmin 530

Tony,

I Passed my check ride and now it’s time to fly somewhere with bad weather for a change.

I wanted to say thanks for scheduling Todd.  It was a pleasure working with him.  I know there are proponents and critics regarding accelerated training, but honestly, this was a perfect fit for my situation and I’m a more proficient pilot for it.  Without this course, I’m quite certain I would have gone another year or more without obtaining the rating.

While I had a good bit of cross country time, I needed the hood time.  The problem was, I found it really difficult to schedule large chunks of senior CFI time with anyone locally.  I think that’s the nature of the business.  An advanced CFI needing to make a living at flight instruction really needs a book of clients.  Finding someone who can dedicate a week of time at the exclusion of all else is just not likely.

You guys really came through.  In booking the time, I felt better about having some flexibility in our start times, and Todd wasn’t distracted with other commitments.  That made a huge difference.

I also now firmly believe in your philosophy of doing everything in the air.  While a simulator does have a place, getting time in the air – even some actual, was far more valuable at this stage.  I think your program is a perfect fit for someone who has good cross country time and simply needs to build hood time and procedural skills.  The experience certainly honed my skills.

Please do not hesitate to use me as a reference.

My Finish-Up Training

Before working with AFIT I was slowly accumulating hours over the course of six months and didn’t feel like I was doing anything more than maintaining my limited piloting knowledge. AFIT’s accelerated flight training was exactly what I need to build my flying know-how and gain confidence in the air.

Tony was easy to work with, very accessible, and upfront and knowledgeable about the course and the curriculum. My flight instructor Gil was an extremely competent pilot, Great Instructor, and fun to be around. He made me feel confident flying in the high traffic airspace around Van Nuys and worked hard to give me all the skills and knowledge necessary to pass my check ride.

I would recommend AFIT to anyone who wants to become a pilot!

Thanks again Tony!!

Tony,

I had an excellent time with Todd Gilbert. I never would have thought that I would be able to achieve my pilot’s license in two weeks. Todd and I flew, studied for my written and he was able to help me achieve one of my life long dreams. Todd has great knowledge about aviation and is very easy to get along with. He was a very informative teacher and made everything very simple to understand. I couldn’t have done it without your course.

My 13 Day Private Pilot Training  (One full day ahead of schedule)

AFIT’s program was the only way that I could schedule the time to earn my certificate. I followed Tony’s instructions to the letter, carefully preparing for the written exam and getting my pre-flight schooling completed. I’m glad I did because at the last moment I decided to earn my certificate in a complex, high-performance 7-seat turbo aircraft that I purchased. Every flight instructor I spoke to thought I was nuts; but when Gil arrived we went straight to work. Gil has the unique ability to read his students and understand when they need encouragement, empathy or a good old-fashioned kick in the rear. He never complained even though it took me over 150 landings to ease us onto the runway. He is a kind person and a fantastic instructor, helping me ace my verbal test and check ride with just 11 days in the air. I now fly cross-country 6-10 hours a week and feel completely confident.

I would recommend the AFIT program to anyone who is willing to dedicate themselves.”

My 14 Day Private Pilot Training

Tony,

I wanted to take a brief moment and write about my recent flight training with AFIT. The training location in Van Nuys and the Instructor Gil were the absolute best combination. I wanted the busy airspace experience and a qualified Instructor to teach me. Gil was very easy to get along with and had great teaching abilities. Gil is defiantly an asset to AFIT and I would recommend him and AFIT to anyone who asked me about flight training. All the CFI instructors in the little town where I live thought it was absolutely crazy that I was attempting the accelerated flight training.

With me back home and holding a TICKET in my possession they are all astonished that I was able to achieve my private pilot license in such a short amount of time. That’s not all either I actually am very comfortable flying and looking forward to my private pilot excursions that will follow. Once again a million thanks to AFIT and Mr. Gil for making the dream a reality.

10 Day Instrument Rating in my Cirrus SR-22

Tony,

I would like to thank you and Bill for helping me get my instrument rating.  Over the last 9 months, I got my private pilot license, high performance endorsement and instrument rating through AFIT.  I have limited flexibility in my time off from work and I am particularly grateful that you and Bill were able to make a plan that fit my schedule.

Bill was an “excellent instructor” and, in ten days, made me a confident, safe instrument pilot.  Two days after getting my instrument rating, I shot my first approach solo in IMC!  Bill was patient and flexible.  He not only taught me the material on the syllabus but also passed along a lot of what he calls “tribal knowledge” that helped me learn best practices from the many pilots he has taught.  I especially liked Bill’s ability to teach me to use the glass cockpit in my Cirrus. He is comfortable with technology and taught me to use both paper and electronic flight bags.  When my practical was scheduled the day after he was supposed to leave, he delayed his departure and helped me study up to the start of the practical.  I highly recommend Bill!  I enjoyed working with him and feel like I have gained a friend along with my instrument rating.

I am also grateful to AFIT and you for sticking with me and helping work around scheduling issues and weather problems this year.  I am amazed at how much you have helped me grow as a pilot in a short period of time.  As a repeat customer, the accelerated training you offer really works!

Thanks again,

10 Day IFR C207T with G500 / G430/530, S-tec 50 and GTX330

Hi Tony and John:

I am a relatively low time pilot (150hrs), but have focused on moving at a good pace up the experience ladder.  I received my PPL in May of 2013, and promptly received my High Performance and Complex endorsement.   I flew 172’s with the G1000 and 182’s with the standard 6 pack primarily.  A year later I received my Tail Wheel endorsement in a J3 Cub, which taught me a lot about coordinated flight, what the rudders are really for, and controlling the plane with small incremental movement.   By year end I had purchased my first aircraft, a Cessna 207, as I had the need to really carry 6 people and about 1100lbs after fuel.  I learned to handle it VFR relatively well and was taught how to do some pretty good short field work by a phenomenal local instructor.  However before I put people in the plane I wanted to make sure I felt confident and ready for whatever the weather could throw at me, or of course really know to stay on the ground when that was the best decision!

I contacted several outfits to do my accelerated training, since I didn’t want to spend a year or more getting my Instrument rating.  Tony at AFIT was by far the most responsive, helpful, and on the ball of all of them.  Because my aircraft is relatively unusual in the Northeast, I had to find an instructor with some real time in a 207, both for experience and for insurance.  Tony recommended John, who unbeknownst to me had been in three Plane and Pilot articles, which were the ones that had originally sparked my idea about an accelerated program.   I quickly put two and two together. It took John two flights, a missed connection, and a train ride to get to upstate NY.    He arrived at 8pm after traveling all day, and yet the minute we met at the station, he was positive, engaged and ready to go.

It is difficult to describe the tremendous balance that John had in his teaching style right from the start.  I had done several types of training before (short field, tail wheel, high performance), and having learned at Westchester Airport, surrounded by the class Bravo of JFK/EWR/LGA, I was used to the rapid fire radio work needed to speak with NY approach and the ATC environment  (I didn’t know any better!), but I sort of treated them separately.  But somehow, John put it all together for me.  The radio, combined with rudder work for the small adjustments on approaches, the “box” work on the 530W/430W, the glideslope captures, pattern work at minimums, holds on a fix, VOR work, all of it.    He would let me get just enough out of the envelope to correct me the first few days, and as training went on, we would add repetition, and then a bit more work, and so on.  In addition he taught me how to use Foreflight to file flight plans in detail, and additional aids in the cockpit to make the information flow well.

We were lucky to have varying weather, so we got some actual IMC time, and we went to 6 states (NY, CT, PA, MA, NH, VT) during the XC time that I needed (20 hours) to exceed the requirements.  Not until I took the oral with the examiner did I realize that, all the while in the plane in midflight, John was prepping me for the Oral.  A question here, an explanation there, on approach, clarifications, all orchestrated incredibly well.  Always with good humor at one point, and demanding the next, tremendous balance.  By the day of the check ride, I was flying at ATP standards, +- 50ft.

And good thing he taught me that way.  On the day of the check ride, weather moved in over Albany where we would be doing the partial panel VOR work.    During the Oral, which took about 3 hours, I kept looking outside at the rolling clouds.  By the time we went up in the air at 1pm, and as John said (If you went to the plane, well you passed the oral!), clouds were pouring rain to the north, with winds moving in.  We had to originally deviate from the plan as we were going to do VOR work first, and then localizer at the Pittsfield airport and back to Hudson for an approach and circle to land.  We diverted to Pittsfield, where everything went smoothly.  At the recommendation of Albany approach, they steered us around the worst of the weather, but it was actual conditions in hard rain all the way.

About 20 miles east of Albany, mid storm, it was partial panel time.  Everything gets covered and I have VOR’s, the 530 and the steam dials.  We are vectored to the approach to runway 28 and as we are beginning the procedure, Albany Approach calls and advises that an airliner has just reported 30 knot windsheer at approx. 500 ft right in our path.  Albany vectored us around for a second approach.   Again once we had captured the approach and we were past the Initial Approach fix, another airliner coming out of Albany reported windsheer again of more than 30 knots, and Albany vectored us again.

The examiner, a 40 year flight veteran and examiner, looked over and said, “perhaps we should do an ILS for now at runway 19?”.  I knew Murphy had come to spoil my check ride,  but Murphy apparently had no idea that John had trained me!  I calmly said to the examiner, “no worries, let’s do this approach again, I’m comfortable with partial panel”.  I was PIC, period.  We did the third approach, horizontal deviation barely out of centerline the whole way, fixes hit within almost 20ft of altitude, and then the climb out to the missed approach.  ATP standard.

The rest of the check ride went very well with approach fixes, and RNAV approaches all easy after that.  When we landed and went into the FBO, John was there waiting.  The instructor, said “you did an incredible job, he did partial panel in that kind of weather”, then turning to me “everything you did was well done, but that VOR control was something I haven’t seen in a very long time.  It was one of the most enjoyable check rides I have ever had.  If my kids asked me to fly with you, I’d let them.”    John only smiled.

Thank you John for everything.  You really are the Merlin of aviation – a magician.

10 Day IFR training In My Piper Cherokee Six

Tony,

Just wanted to take a few minutes to let you know what a fantastic time I had with Todd as my instructor.   Todd was professional and made sure that I understood every possible thing I needed to know.   We actually got to fly around 7 hours in actual IMC with several approaches to within 100-200′ of minimums.   WOW!!!  That experience was invaluable and I passed my check ride.

Just recently I took my family from KY to FL for my kids fall break from school.   Guess what?  I filed IFR and went.  Without my instrument rating we would have been stuck for days in Florida because of the low ceilings we had at our fuel stops and enroute.   We climbed on top and enjoyed the sun and dodged a small thunderstorm.

This rating and experience in the “soup” with Todd made me a more confident and more proficient Pilot that has allowed me to travel more safely with my family and friends.   Now I find myself filing IFR just for the heck of it just because I enjoy it.

Thanks

My 14 Day Private Pilot Training Course

Tony,

Thank you for your mail. And for want of more powerful words, “THANK YOU” for helping make a childhood dream come true.

As I’ll be the first to admit I was anything but an ideal candidate. In addition to having mild dyslexia, I had an issue with depth perception. Both of these make regular tasks involved with flying difficult. And Eric found these on Day 1. The easiest thing for Eric to do, would be to tell me that I wasn’t destined to be a pilot and to move on. But he did not. Instead after figuring out the issues, he worked with me long and hard, sometimes as long as 15 hour days, till we were able to overcome the challenges and I became adequate. And then good. Not just good enough to pass the FAA test. But good enough to be a safe pilot.

Working with Eric was an absolute privilege. His level of motivation was unbelievable and inspirational. I’ve been through several teachers, people from whom I have learnt. And Eric finds a place at the very top. Among those whose teaching has and will continue to have an impact on my Life. And that goes beyond flying.

It was a pleasure to have worked with AFIT, you and with Eric. You’ve delivered on all of your promises, in-spite of my shortcomings.

Please feel free to use me as a reference to any potential client. That’s the very least I can do, after what you’ve have done for me. :-)

Once again, Thank You. And all the very Best.

Hi Tony,

Three months ago I decided to become a private pilot. Last week, I completed the mission.

There’s little doubt I would have done so without support from you and your team at AFIT. In particular having Eric as my instructor, in the high density altitudes of Southern Utah, made my 14-day training both enjoyable and invaluable.

I’m looking forward to experiencing the freedom afforded by my new certificate, and the challenge of earning my instrument rating.

Thank you for an awesome experience!

10 Day IFR Training In My C182 with G1000

Hello Tony,

Thank you. I couldn’t have done it without the guidance and support that Gil provided me. Gil was great, and a lot of fun, to work with. As you know, I was rather apprehensive about learning IFR in 10 days when it took me over 3 years to obtain my Private, but with Gil’s expertise I was able to accomplish my goal. I really enjoyed that we jumped right into IFR training learning every aspect as opposed to spending weeks on end on a single topic. Gil was very patient with me and took the time to strengthen my weak points. Overall, I had a very enjoyable 10 days with Gil as we had a lot of fun learning and flying. I’d recommend this course to anyone seeking an IFR rating.

Cheers and thanks again.

14 Day PPL Training in My Commander 114. Thank you

Greetings Tony,

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you and my flight instructor that provided me with the professional flight training to take me from a beginning student pilot to a certified private pilot.

As you know Tony, I flew commercially to Texas and purchased a high performance complex aircraft. My AFIT instructor met me there and we started my flight training in that aircraft.  Within a week I soloed.

When I initially inquired about your company and this total immersion flight training, you explained the process and it sounded convincing and just what I was looking for. However, I was still a bit skeptical. I was unconvinced how I could learn to fly and be a competent private pilot in 14 days. Well, that is because your program doesn’t shortcut any training, it is a total immersion of everything required and beyond. The training is so professional and so thorough, I could not help but to succeed.

Tony, you were truly committed to see me through this and you did.

For all of those skeptics out there of which I was one, if any of you are considering accelerated flight training, do not hesitate to go with AFIT!

I will not forget how much you assisted me with getting this flight training completed successfully.

Best Regards,

My 14 Day Private Pilot Training

Todd,

When I look back at the whole experience from the perspective of a new day I have only positive thoughts. Two weeks ago today I had never even sat in the left seat of an aircraft let alone flown one. I have learned a tremendous amount about piloting and aviation in this really very short time, both knowledge and skills. That I was even ready to attempt a check ride at the FAA minimum hours is really a testament to your skill and tenacity as a flight instructor and I thank you greatly for that. You employed just the right amount of demonstration and encouragement along with a demand for solid fundamentals of flight from me. Lesser instructors would not have arrived at day 14 with me feeling as prepared as I did.

Thank you for the time and effort you put in to making me a pilot. I really appreciate it.

My 14 Day Private Plot Training

Hi Tony,

As you know, In December of 2015 I worked with John at KVNY on my Private Pilot certificate.  John was a great instructor, he was very focused and made sure that I would be a safe pilot anytime I was acting as PIC and not just for the check ride.  Despite dealing with weather John was able to figure out how to make sure that I got all of the training I needed to qualify to take the practical test on time.  John is full of  knowledge and was very eager to pass it on to his students.  The entire experience was great, I learned so much and had a great time.  To top it off a week after I passed my check ride I was getting checked  out at my local flying club to fly their airplanes, after landing the instructor said that he was very pleased with the flight and that I must have had a great instructorť because I really knew my stuff.   That one comment is very telling of how good of an instructor John is.

Thanks for everything.
