Review of Accelerated Flight & Instrument Training PPL Course
I had initially enrolled in another flight school where, after 40 hours of training, I still hadn’t been given the opportunity to solo. Feeling disheartened, I decided to switch to my current flight school. To my surprise, the instructors here are dedicated professionals with nearly 1,000’s of hours of experience.
In contrast to my previous experience, where instructors merely shouted instructions like “align with the runway centerline,” the instructors at this school provide precise guidance, emphasizing details such as the runway centerline and the relative position of the engine before takeoff. This clarity made a significant difference in my understanding.
Moreover, the instructors here are not overly cautious for the sake of their reputation; instead, they focus on getting students within their set goals to participate in check rides as efficiently as possible. I joined this school, and after just 4 hours of flight training with them, I was cleared for solo flight. Following that, I had only flown one cross-country with an instructor before being approved for solo cross-country flights.
What impressed me the most with AFIT was their clear communication about the upcoming training schedule. They laid out a plan, informing me about what to expect tomorrow, the day after, and what exercises and training would be necessary each day for the next 5 days leading up to the check ride. This level of organization and communication is truly fantastic!Now I’m already a private pilot! Thanks for AFIT

Hi Tony,
Amelia was a great instructor, her knowledge and guidance helped me hone my skills from my previous flight instructors which allowed me to pass this check ride on the first try. Amelia’s teaching style is one of which that benefits me the most in enabling me to get a better grasps on the topics I was weaker at in obtaining my PPL for the Oral Portion.
Flying with Amelia was always an exciting time for me. Besides the scenic views when flying with her cross country, she pushed me to ensure that I was prepared and ready to take on any challenge that the DPE can throw at me. My journey with AFIT for the 14 Day Private Pilot Course was very exciting, enriching and enjoyable.
Prior to starting the course, Tony assisted me with the administrative tasks and responded to my queries very promptly, making the process very smooth and easy.
My instructor, Chad, was very passionate and knowledgeable. He taught effectively and with passion, and could keep lessons fun and exciting. As we were ahead of time, we had to the opportunity to fly to Catalina Island and Big Bear, and even do some formation flying. He ensured that I was very prepared for the check ride, both in terms of theory and actual flying. Flying with Chad showed me the true joy of flying!
Alex, the manager, always ensured that the aircraft was ready to fly when we needed it, and also quickly resolved any issues we faced, allowing us to remain on schedule. He also assisted me in some administrative tasks like purchasing the renter’s insurance.

My instructor Chad was outstanding. Period. Kudos to his professionalism and passion for flying that rubbed off on me. Even though it was an extremely hot summer, he managed to be effective in his instruction.
The result is that I managed to achieve my PPL within 13 days, with capacity to fly to Catalina and Big Bear. It is rare to find such a gem of an aviator.

6 Day Commercial Training Course
Hi Tony,
Hope all is well. I am safely back in Munich and have “recovered” from the Commercial Training and the Exam. I just wanted to write to you and ket you know how great Josh was. He was easily the best instructor that I worked with at AFIT (and the other ones all set a very’ high bar as all your instructors are very good) but Josh was clearly better. From his very easygoing but extremely safety oriented manner to his great flying skills and ability to explain the ground stuff in a clear, fun and concise manner he was just all in great. We had a very good DPE and he was clearly very impressed by the ground training and the practical training. The debrief after the checkride was unusually short and I think this is a testament to Josh’s training – and I don’t think that Danny would have been shy if there were any shortcomings.
This was really an awesome week and Josh made all the difference. This was really great.
