I can’t thank AFIT and my instructor Jacob enough. Looking back on the last two weeks, it’s crazy to think I started with very minimal knowledge and skills to walking away with my private pilot’s license. Jacob was very knowledgeable and a great pilot/instructor to learn from. The accelerated program is the way to go.
Overall the whole experience was great and I couldn’t recommend AFIT enough!

Flying with Andy was a great experience and most importantly at the end I successfully completed my test and received my private pilot certificate. I spent 10 days flying with Andy, completing my training. Andy, a very experienced pilot and a great flight instructor. Andy showed me a few cool new tricks and tools that I happily incorporated into my flight skills.

When I signed up for the AFIT accelerated flight training course to obtain my Private Pilot’s License in 14 days, I definitely did not know exactly into what I was getting. This accelerated course is intense and requires complete focus and commitment to the goal. For me, the most important key to successfully completing this flight training “Boot Camp” was having the right instructor. Ruben was an amazing CFI because he is patient, encouraging, and really knows how to teach aviation and build the confidence required to fly solo. He has a special chair out by the runway and when you solo for the first time, he goes and sits in the chair and watches you take flight and land the plane all on your own. I won’t forget that moment and seeing his fist pump in the air as I taxied back after landing.
Ruben is extraordinarily experienced in flying everything from single engine land aircraft to helicopters. This is someone who lives, eats, breathes, and sleeps aviation. In addition to making flying fun and being a great teacher, he also knows precisely how to prepare his students for the all-important check-ride.
I could not have accomplished my goal of earning my Private Pilot License without Ruben’s instruction and encouragement.

Tony, There is no one else in the world I would rather get my pilots license from than Oleg. Not only is he an incredible pilot, but you can tell he genuinely cares about your experience and will do anything he can to make sure you’re ready for your check-ride. He is a very talented and experienced pilot who makes learning enjoyable and fun. The best thing about Oleg is that he will make you feel relaxed and comfortable while flying but he is always making sure you never slack or cut corners, which I am so grateful for because I believe this has made me not only a skillful pilot, but more importantly a safe pilot. Private Pilot Finish-Up Course
After over thirty years of being inspired by flight, I finally began my journey in March of this year. My beginning attempts in the weather of the Pacific Northwest, where I live, led to six months of frustration battling minimums, Covid bouts, and over 85 flight hours with no Private License.
I contacted Tony at AFIT and he set me up with Adriel in Lincoln, California. In six days, Adriel had me transitioned over to the six-pack from my G1000 familiarity, re-soloed, pinned-down some landing challenges I had, and had me prepared to pass my check ride. Everything was smooth, communication great, and the end result was priceless. Achieving my Private Pilot License was a dream thirty years in the making and I’m finally on track to continue pursuing my transition into a new career in aviation.
Thanks Tony and Adriel for propelling me forward on my journey! I’m rolling on ground school for my instrument with King’s and will get my knowledge squared away for my IRA test. I’m hoping to get set up for your instrument course ASAP.

Hey Tony,
Before coming to AFIT, I was frustrated about the hands I was dealt with my previous flight training experience, I came in with 50 hours flown before covid. And I knew I had to kick myself to start and FINISH my private pillow license to start on achieving my dream to fly for the big boys one day.
I found AFIT and after speaking to Tony I had scheduled my start date within 1 hour! My instructor Jacob really got me to get rid of my nerves and taught me fly more confidently! He got me ready for my checkride within 10 days of starting!!
On checkride day, it was way windier than I’d have liked but I could just hear Jacob voice in my head telling me to just let the plane do it’s thing and then I calmed down and did great! Now I did have a few things I missed on the checkride due to inexperience dealing with such heavy winds but Tony, Jacob, and Rueben were able to get me scheduled for a quick flight lesson and another checkride! Rueben (my other instructor) helped me iron out the wrinkles on the manuvers I missed and even taught me a few tricks that helped me PASS THE CHECKRIDE!!
My family and I were very excited for my new private pilot’s license! I’m so glad I came to find AFIT because it FINALLY allowed me to get a start on my dream of being an airline pilot! Thank you AFIT

I wanted to write to you and let you know about my experience at Van Nuys with Annelie and Alex these past 10 days.
First of all, I can’t say enough about the professionalism and patience of Annelie. As my flight instructor she was methodical in her approach and instilled in me the information that I needed to learn effectively and quickly. I had come in with a 10-year background of flying so she quickly figured out what I still needed to learn and improve upon in order to be successful in what we were about to do.
My second point is to the demeanor of Annelie and Alex. You will not find anyone nicer and more patient than these two wonderful people. I would suggest and encourage anyone looking to expedite their flight instruction to come to Van Nuys and learn under Annelie and Alex. They both have a wealth of knowledge. Alex’s background in airplane mechanics makes him a huge asset to the program too.

14 Day Private Pilot Training Course
I started taking flying lessons at my home airport in June 2021. My progression was very slow secondary to my CFI’s schedule and my professional schedule. After about 50 hours of lessons spread out over 13 months and never soloing, I decided to look at other ways to complete my training, because at the rate I was going, it seemed like I would never get my private pilot license. Most of this was because I would get about two days of flying about every 2-3 weeks. So it was like starting over every time I would fly. A year had gone by and I decided to take an accelerated course. I researched the different ones and came to the conclusion that AFIT seemed to fit what I needed. It was a great choice. I talked with AFIT and I even read up on the Bios for the instructors. Paul seemed to stand out to me. So I scheduled with Paul. I had an incredible experience with Paul (I would call him my friend as well after flying and learning from him during our time together). It was a great two weeks and I learned a lot in a short time. He quickly assessed where I was in my training and we practiced a few things and I soloed in just four days and the rest of the training went very smoothly.
Paul is an excellent flight instructor (and I will say just an overall good person) with a real passion for teaching. By the end of the two weeks, Paul made sure that I was very well prepared for my check ride. The upfront cost of AFIT seems high, but I if you add up the cost of the instructor, renting the aircraft, and purchasing fuel, the overall cost is very close if not less than traditional flight training costs. In my case, traditional flight training is very inefficient and overall takes many more hours spread out over many months or years.
The training with AFIT is efficient and intense, but well worth it. I’ve tried flight training the traditional way, there really is no comparison. If you truly want to finish pilot training, AFIT is the way to go.

The experience I had the last two weeks while working towards my Private Pilot’s License has been incredible. The hotel worked extremely well, its location was ideal. Ruben took great care of me and made me feel extremely comfortable along the whole journey. You can really tell that Ruben has been instructing for a very long time. The procedures were taught in a very easy to understand way. If there was ever anything I wanted to work on more we hammered it out until I was a master at it. We got along very well and I enjoyed our time together. I felt safe and well taken care of the whole time. The Lincoln location was great from the friendly office staff and the benefit of having a group of friendly mechanics on site. A few mechanic needs came up along the way and they were taken care of immediately. One Mechanic came in after hours to change a tire for us so that we could complete our night flight. From start to finish everything was a well-oiled machine and a great process.
I would recommend AFIT and more specifically Ruben to anyone that wants to further their aviation knowledge.

I just wanted to write a few lines about my experience with AFIT. Actually this is my 2nd experience with AFIT. A few years ago my son passed his IFR check ride with another AFIT instructor. Ruben was my’ assigned instructor. We had a few days of low IFR so we hit the books to prepare for the ground portion. Ruben is very knowledgeable and was very patient with all my questions. When the skies cleared we started flying. Slowly I started getting better and better. Soon I was shooting approaches and getting more proficient until he said I was ready. When check ride day came, Ruben was right there holding my hand on the paperwork and easing my fears and calming my nerves. I will not forget the words he said when walking with the DPE for the practical: “Just do what we have been doing and have fun…”A short time later, I was IFR rated.

2 weeks from Zero hours to PPL. I was told this would be intense training but that was an understatement. From am until pm I was in the air or in ground school. My Instructor Jorge was patient and extremely knowledgeable on how to teach. I enjoyed my time and do believe this is the best way to learn to fly. If you have two weeks and no distractions this is the course for you.

AFIT is the way to go!! They paired me with Ben and he made the experience great! He worked as hard as I did! Two weeks of constant learning. Doing this accelerated program is hard but is certainly worth it. No getting screwed around by schools trying to delay your training doing an hour here hour there. This knocks out your hours! Fastest way to learn!
Ben was my instructor and not only is he very patient but he’s full of knowledge and wanted me to do well as much as I did! All the hard work paid off and I passed my check ride!

I just wanted to take the time to let you know about my experience with Ricardo.
In the two weeks that I spent in Lincoln learning with Ricardo, he remained consistently positive and when I would start to doubt my own capabilities, he was always reassuring with a kind and empathetic attitude. He constantly checked in as we were flying to make sure that I was feeling healthy during flight and was verifying that I was understanding what he was teaching to me.
Something that I’ve been bragging about to my friends, who are also in the beginning phases of their flight career, is Ricardo’s knowledge and ability to convey that information in a clear and easy to understand manner. I strive to have the knowledge base that he has going forward.

I am so grateful I found AFIT. Ben was an awesome instructor. It was very difficult for me to learn the traditional way by flying once or twice a week. The fact that it was a two week, all inclusive environment made it so much easier to learn. Ben was patient, extremely professional and invested in my success. He was always positive; knew when to push me but also knew when to back off a little. Training at times was intense but for me, it produced muscle memory that I did not get by flying a few times a month. My confidence grew day after day. I connected with Ben the very first day and knew I had found an excellent pilot to learn from.
I had already been flying with my son, who got his PPL last year, many times which is what drew me in to learning myself. Trying to balance a career and learning to fly once or twice a week was not working. I knew I had to fully immerse myself, it was the only way I could accomplish getting my PPL. I studied diligently for the written exam before going out to CA for my training. I was able to complete my training in 14 days and pass my check ride. None of this would have been possible if I didn’t do this program or for Ben.
Based in Lincoln, CA, Ben was a joy to work with. His knowledge was extraordinary but what really impressed me was his desire for me to succeed. He was fully invested in my training and in the end that’s what put me over the top. I cannot express enough my gratitude for Ben or AFIT. It’s an experience that I will carry for a lifetime.

It’s hard to believe that we crammed 14 days of flight training into 11 days due to bad weather. The AFIT program was intense, but really prepared me for my PPL check ride. Coming into the program with barely any actual flying experience, I can’t say enough about how fast you can learn when you’re flying every day for hours. They really cram in the real world flying experience you need in addition to all the specific skills you need to demonstrate for your check ride. I don’t know that I would have been as prepared with a traditional flight training a couple hours a week.
My instructor, Adriel, was great. He did everything he could to make me a better pilot and to ensure I have the knowledge and proper skills to be a safe pilot. His demeanor, attitude and knowledge are the perfect fit for an accelerated program.
A big thanks to AFIT from a pilot who walked away with their Private Pilot’s Certificate in hand.

I really enjoyed my training with Andy. He’s extremely experienced and knowledgeable, combined with good humor and patience. When the other CFI’s have a question, he’s the one they ask. I love that he lets you try to figure things out yourself first, that way you remember it much better. Of course, he’s always ready to jump in to save the plane in case you mess up a landing, but he knows exactly when to intervene and when not to. Also, he has the humility of someone with nothing left to prove. He’s right where he wants to be, not using teaching as a stepping stone to the airlines. Overall, I learned so much and advanced very quickly. I love that style of learning, where I can focus all of my attention on just one thing. The only limitation on how much I could fly per day was my own fatigue and weather.
In the end I passed! I couldn’t have done it without Andy and AFIT.

My dream to become a pilot became a reality at AFIT Flight School in Lincoln California. Prior to joining AFIT, I did a lot of research on flight schools – compared the costs and found their offer quite attractive. As an international student – the process and procedures are very well laid out on their website. All the staff have always been very helpful and understanding especially the main coordinator and Owner Tony, and my flight instructor Ben made me feel as part of the family. Whew! What a fantastic experience!
The curriculum is unique and incredibly challenging. Zach and I put everything we had into every day and we checked a significant number of requirements off the list. We also had fun!
Flight training is different than anything I have done in a very long time. The process is transformative and during my week of training with AFIT, I grew in ways I never expected or imagined. I am beyond thrilled with the results. One of the things I learned about myself just by sitting in the plane every day with Zach and seeing how he approaches piloting, training and life in general, is that I am a person who can easily become too focused on the end result. This tendency sometimes, or more likely most times, leads me to miss out on enjoying the process and the journey.
It’s really pretty amazing, with few spoken words on the subject, I came to realize that the real moments in flight training are not about the license. It’s more about the incremental progress and the development and growth we go through to achieve the license. I was completely blind to this before last Thursday. Gaining that awareness alone made the whole trip worthwhile and I gained so much more! I can fly airplanes!! So awesome!!
In contrast and thanks to Zach, I truly enjoyed every moment of my training with AFIT. I will never forget this week of my life! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for making it possible. From my perspective, this is just the beginning of my training relationship with AFIT. As I Grow as a pilot, I will need more training and I would like to be able to count on AFIT for my future training needs.

Jorge, my instructor, was extremely friendly, patient, cheerful and passionate about teaching and flying. I went into the 14-Day PPL prepared for intense training, but I had to adjust my definition of “intense” after going through this course. As someone who was and is still afraid of heights, I felt safe and understood by Jorge, and he helped push my limits and understanding.
Having done flight training 1-2 times a month previously and racking up a few hours before starting the course, it was very helpful to spend the 2 weeks fully focused on flying and I fully appreciate the planning and execution undertaken by Jorge,

I am very excited to have gotten my Private Pilot in such a short time with this accelerated program and with Todd’s help. It was a challenging couple of weeks, but I enjoyed every minute of it. After several years of trying to obtain my Private Pilot License AFIT was able to connect me with an Instructor and location that worked with my busy schedule.
I currently live in Delaware and started training through a part 141 school just prior the pandemic. The school shut down training during this time. After the pandemic I returned only to be affected by VIP TFR’s closing my airfield almost every weekend. I reached out to Tony at AFIT back in November and the schedule and locations just wouldn’t work for me. So I tried to schedule with two other Flight Schools only to run into issues with instructor’s leaving for the airlines and canceling or trying to change dates on me. So I reached back out to Tony and he had a last minute opening that worked for me.
Tony connected me with my CFI, Oleg out of Capital City Airport in Frankfort Kentucky. The weather was less than perfect during the first few days but Oleg did a wonderful job adjusting our schedule and never missing an opportunity to get training done. Oleg did a very good job ensuring I was ready for my check ride. Towards the end of my training he could tell I was getting nervous for the checkride and did a great job of reassuring me I was ready. After I completed my checkride and returned home I realized just how good of a job Oleg did. I felt unsure of my knowledge level combined with stressors from home during the last few days. Oleg’s experience clearly showed at this point because he was able to keep me from getting overwhelmed. I can honestly say I was very well prepared thanks to Oleg’s instruction.

I would like to share here my experience flying with Oleg at KFFT. “Simply the best!”
To begin with I would like to share that I came to Frankfort KY from California with a clear mission, to get my Private Pilot certification and with the great support and professional training that Oleg provided to me I was able to return back to California after 10 days as a certified pilot! however there is much more to that story.
My efforts to become a private pilot started 1 year back. I can say that I had experiences with a few CFIs. I was very patient and I trusted them to do the best to get me certified but I found out that I was wrong! With Oleg everything was simple and straightforward. Right when I came in he reviewed my experiences and got straight to work. On the 1st day he helped me to correct simple landing mistakes and I felt much better! On the 2nd day I was already soloing and on the 3rd day I completed my 1st XC SOLO. Then it took 1 night to finish my night flight minimums and with that I completed all the minimum requirements for the checkride. From that point it was mostly about improving my maneuvers and focusing on theory. Besides that I have to say that Oleg is a very easy going and very funny guy so it was absolutely a great pleasure to spend time near him.
So to summarize my experiences I would highly recommend any student pilot that takes flights here and there in between other tasks to change strategy! Say goodbye to the world, get on a plane to Kentucky, spend about two weeks with Oleg and I can guarantee that he will make you an excellent pilot!

6 Day Commercial Training Course
Rick is the finest instructor I’ve had the pleasure to learning from. He constantly made himself available for discussions and explanations even on breaks, going out of his way to answer my questions. He gave me a rigorous course load of both ground and flight lessons, telling me everything I should read up on before our next lesson that I missed in the theory , communicating effectively and concisely. In the cockpit, he is precise on what output he wants from me and taking control when necessary to show me new maneuvers and allowing the student to maximize their flight feel on how the maneuvers ought need to be .
I was consistently able to make small corrections on landings and takeoffs when necessary due to the minute corrections Rick was able to see and explaining what I was doing wrong and how to fix it. After that, I consistently had good or excellent landings. He prepared me for my check ride and I passed , thanks to his tremendous hard work. Not only is he excellent at flying, he is truly passionate about teaching and has the patience and skill to work with everyone.

14-Day Private Pilot Training
I want to give my heartfelt thanks to Ben for helping me achieve this challenging task. Firstly, he went above and beyond in ensuring that I received adequate training and fulfilled the requirements for the PPL in the short two weeks that the program offered. This allowed me to earn my license in 42.6 hours of flight time. In addition, he seems to be a very genuine person and has a passion for teaching others when it comes to aviation. He was very well acquainted with flight planning procedures using the latest techniques that saved immense time and effort with ForeFlight. Learning with him gave me the confidence I needed to fly solo on my fourth day of training.
I also want to give thanks to AFIT for allowing me this opportunity, as someone from abroad, to gain my FAA PPL in a timely and relatively affordable manner. Tony was very prompt and responsive when any issues arose and this helped me to achieve success. Thanks for everything.

14-Day Private Pilot Training
First of all, I want to say Oleg is an absolute legend. I didn’t come in with high expectations, but he totally blew me away. He’s super professional and knows exactly how to help me improve without making things complicated. He didn’t even need to take control of the plane much, but somehow managed to make me a better pilot. I think this is because he’s got tons of experience teaching and genuinely cares about his students’ success. We were totally on the same page throughout the training and I definitely felt like we were in this together.
What I also really appreciate about Oleg is that he keeps a straightforward approach and doesn’t overload you with unnecessary stuff. Right from day one, he focused on the essential knowledge and skills needed for the check ride. Not more, not less. It made prepping for the check ride so much easier compared to other flight schools. For me it’s been a bit of a slow ride with my previous training, dealing with all sorts of issues like scheduling problems, bad weather, and instructors who weren’t exactly the most dedicated. But I’m really happy I finally found an awesome instructor who made things progress quicker for me!
I am thankful for the fast-track training opportunity that AFIT offers, and I’m glad I jumped onboard. Tony is pleasant to work with and It’s been a smooth process signing up and getting everything in order. The 14-day accelerated training program won’t work for everyone. It’s intense, and you gotta be ready to work hard and stay 100% focused. But if you’re up for the challenge, I highly recommend Oleg as your instructor. Plus, Frankfort, Kentucky is an amazing place to learn to fly. The airport traffic is lighter, and the town itself is beautiful. I’ve got some great memories from there, and who knows, maybe I’ll go back someday for more flying.

I am so glad that I enrolled in the 14 day private pilot training program.
A program like this is intense, and you have to be prepared going into it. I’m glad I took the time to really focus on ground school and the written exam before I came out to California. I think that it made a huge difference and allowed us to be very efficient with our time.
Training in Van Nuys was challenging, but ultimately a positive experience, in spite of some less than ideal weather conditions that we had to contend with. Having access to the same plane and your own dedicated instructor each day really is a game changer.
Ciprian was a tough but fair instructor, who pushed me to do my best each and every time we flew together. I felt as though we were a real team and that he was actively rooting for my success the entire time. And in the classroom, he is very good at breaking down complex concepts.
I’m proud to have achieved this accomplishment and am grateful for my experience training in Van Nuys!
